Kevin Phillips has backed his former club Sunderland in their move for Wolverhampton Wanderers striker Steven Fletcher.
It has been reported that Sunderland have made a big money move for the Scottish international and Phillips believes Fletcher would be a hit on Wearside should he make the move.
Phillips told talkSPORT: "Steven Fletcher was Wolves' best player last season and he has showed all the attributes that Martin O'Neill is looking for.
"He's got everything. He's a great header of the ball, he can hold it up really well and his work rate is excellent."
Phillips scored 130 goals in 235 appearances in a six-year spell at Sunderland.
