Sunderland boss Gus Poyet has revealed that he is considering making changes to his side for their Premier League meeting with Manchester City, but will leave his decision until late on Wednesday.
The Black Cats put in an impressive performance to hold Chelsea to a 0-0 draw at the Stadium of Light on Saturday, which has made the Uruguayan think about not altering his side.
However, with the busy festive fixture schedule on the horizon, Poyet has admitted that he could be forced to rest some of his players.
He told the club's official website: "I think there are some positions where you need to make sure you maintain a group of players consistently, but there are a few players who are also knocking on the door.
"The problem is that when you are in a good run and not losing games it is a bit more difficult for them, but they will get the chance so they need to be ready.
"There are of course always little things and little problems that give the manager the chance to make a couple of changes, so we will wait until tomorrow and have a short session in the morning to stretch the legs and then we will make a decision about the team."
Sunderland are 13th in the Premier League going into their clash against City.
