Sunderland manager Gus Poyet: 'We cannot get a decision'

Sunderland boss Gus Poyet has more complaints about refereeing injustices after their 0-0 draw with West Brom in which he feels some "poor" decisions went against them.

Sunderland manager Gus Poyet had more complaints about refereeing injustices following their 0-0 draw with West Bromwich Albion this afternoon.

The Black Cats had an Adam Johnson goal ruled out for offside at the Stadium of Light, where Joleon Lescott escaped a sending off for a foul on Danny Graham.

Poyet feels that both decisions should have gone his side's way and was cursing the luck that they were again lacking as they failed to break down an organised Albion outfit.

He told reporters: "We knew before the game what West Brom would do. Tony Pulis is a genius at setting up teams, so you need something to go for you. Sometimes you need the referee to do their job. It's getting to a point where we cannot get the right decision. It was a simple decision, it was clear."

On the Lescott decision, he said: "It's a bad decision. It was poor because the referee didn't make the decision. It was the linesman. The referee needed to consult the linesman. They were two mistakes that cost us."

On the Johnson offside, Poyet added: "It's a tough one. I'm not going to blame the linesman, because it's a difficult decision. But he was wrong. When you have those two decisions against you, it's difficult to break down a Tony Pulis team. It's 0-0 and probably the last one shown on Match of the Day tonight."

The result leaves Sunderland 16th in the Premier League and three points above the relegation zone.
