Sunderland haved signed defender Ondrej Celustka on a season-long loan basis from Trabzonspor.
The 24-year-old had been linked with a host of European clubs, including Crystal Palace, once it was known that he had been made available by his Turkish employers.
However, Sunderland manager Paolo di Canio has won the race for the former Czech Republic youth international's services.
Celustka made 55 league appearances for Trabzonspor following his arrival from Slavia Prague in 2011.
