Sunderland's Billy Jones "frustrated" by Leicester City draw

Sunderland defender Billy Jones reveals his frustration over his side's goalless draw against Leicester as the Black Cats miss their chance to secure survival.

Sunderland defender Billy Jones has confessed that he and his teammates were frustrated by their inability to beat Leicester City on Saturday to confirm their Premier League status for next season.

The Black Cats were held to a goalless draw by Nigel Pearson's men at the Stadium of Light as the Foxes managed to get over the line to confirm their stay in the top flight.

However, Dick Advocaat's side still need a point from their final two matches against Arsenal and Chelsea to secure survival, or hope that Newcastle United and Hull City are unable to beat their final-day opponents.

Jones told the club's official website: "It was frustrating. They came with a gameplan to frustrate us from the start and achieve the point that they needed to confirm their safety. We've drawn too many games this season, but hopefully we can draw one more to confirm out Premier League status.

"We have to take the point as a positive, but we're a little bit disappointed because we wanted to finish it today and get the job done in front of the supporters.

"We could have made it three wins on the bounce, but we've got to take it as a positive and got into the next two matches with a gameplan to confirm safety, and hope that other teams do their jobs as well. We know that we can't depend on other teams, we have to do it ourselves."

Sunderland are 16th in the Premier League table, three points clear of the relegation zone.
