Goalkeeper Simon Mignolet has urged his Sunderland teammates not to dwell on their recent run of form.
The Black Cats are without a victory from their last six outings and as a result sit six points above the relegation zone with nine matches left to play.
However, with Norwich City to come at the weekend at the Stadium of Light, Belgium international Mignolet insists that the Sunderland squad should "look forward" rather than back.
"We have to look forward and it is important we do that rather than talk about the last couple of games," he told the club's official website. "It is important to look upwards and ourselves, to make sure we are ready for the game. We can still end up where we want to be – there's a lot still to play for.
"There's three points up for grabs this weekend and we need to make sure we [get them] and then end the season on a high."
Sunderland have won four matches at home all season from a possible 14.
