Sunderland boss Gus Poyet has admitted that his side are "running out" of time and games to stay in the Premier League.
The Black Cats extended their winless run in the top flight to six matches as they drew 0-0 for the second consecutive game in the league in their clash with Norwich City at the Stadium of Light.
Poyet told BBC Sport: "I'm disappointed. I was expecting more from the team: I was expecting to win. Every time we win an important game - like the cup win [against Chelsea] - the next step is always down.
"We were very poor technically today. Playing extra time on Tuesday is no excuse. I'm realistic, time is running out."
Sunderland are bottom of the Premier League and are four points from safety.
