Sunderland manager Sam Allardyce has revealed that he spoke to Hull City boss Steve Bruce about signing Dame N'Doye.
The 30-year-old is said to be on the verge of joining the Black Cats from Turkish side Trabzonspor on a loan deal.
N'Doye played for the Tigers last season, but opted to join the Turkish club once Hull got relegated to the Championship.
"My old mate Brucey said he brought something they didn't have last season," Allardyce told reporters. "He knows and has experienced the Premier league. Hopefully he can score goals for us.
"Let's hope he can achieve the improvement we are looking for in terms of converting more chances and scoring goals."
Reports have claimed that N'Doye will join the Black Cats with a view to a permanent move in the summer.
