Emanuele Giaccherini's agent has claimed that his client is not thinking about a potential move to Fiorentina until after Euro 2016.
The 31-year-old, who spent last season on loan at Bologna, attracted attention during Italy's tournament opener against Belgium.
The midfielder scored just after the half-hour mark in the Azzurri's 2-0 victory in Group F on Monday.
Giaccherini's representative Giulio Marinelli has revealed that his client would be interested in joining Fiorentina, but is not thinking about a summer transfer just yet.
"There is enormous satisfaction for the goal," Marinelli told Radio Blu. "We're so happy for him, as he returned to Italy after a difficult season and reclaimed a place in the national team.
"The possibility of returning among the Azzurri was an important factor in his decision to move to Bologna. Emanuele is extremely fond of the Azzurri shirt. As for the market, there was activity around Giaccherini before the beginning of the Euros.
"He has only year of contract with Sunderland, so his price could be under €2m. It's not a novelty that [Pantaleo] Corvino (Fiorentina's director of football) holds Giaccherini in great esteem, but there are no news. Emanuele would be happy to come to Fiorentina, but right now he's only thinking about the Euros and he won't be taking any decisions on the short term."
Giaccherini joined the Black Cats from Juventus in 2013.
