Tunisian winger Wahbi Khazri has officially left Sunderland for Saint-Etienne in a transfer that could be worth up to £9m for the League One side.
Khazri was widely expected to depart the Stadium of Light this summer following the Black Cats' latest relegation.
The 27-year-old spent last season on loan with Rennes, scoring nine times in 24 league outings, and he will now head back to Ligue 1 with Saint-Etienne on a permanent basis.
Les Verts have paid an upfront fee of £6m for the wideman, which could rise by a further £3m if various performance-related add-ons are triggered.
Part of the fee received by Sunderland will go straight to paying off the remaining money owned to Khazri's former club Bordeaux.
