River Plate have reportedly registered an interest in signing Sunderland striker Ignacio Scocco this summer.
Scocco joined the Black Cats from Internacional in January, but he struggled to become a regular in Gus Poyet's side in the closing stages of the season.
After making only six appearances for his latest club, it appears that the 28-year-old will have the opportunity to return to his native Argentina in the near future.
According to the Daily Mail, Boca Juniors and Newell's Old Boys will challenge River Plate for his signature.
Scocco insisted last month that he was not interested in moving back to Argentina in the summer.
