Newcastle United have announced that Daryl Janmaat will miss this weekend's home clash with Swansea City through injury.
The club has revealed that the defender is undergoing treatment for a groin strain, as well as a hand injury.
Word that Janmaat is suffering from a hand injury appears to confirm reports that the player broke his fingers after punching a dressing-room wall in frustration last weekend.
"Newcastle United defender Daryl Janmaat is currently undergoing treatment for a groin injury suffered during Saturday's game at Southampton," said the club in a statement.
"The 26-year-old full-back has also undergone treatment for a hand injury sustained the same day.
"Janmaat will be unavailable for the Magpies' forthcoming fixture against Swansea at the weekend. He will be reviewed further next week and the Club will provide an update in due course."
Newcastle head into the Swansea match in 19th place in the Premier League table, six points away from a position of safety.
