Leon Britton has claimed that Swansea City were rewarded for a confident approach in the 3-0 victory over York City.
Goals from Nathan Dyer, Matt Grimes and Marvin Emnes were enough to send Garry Monk's side through to the third round of the League Cup in comfortable fashion, and Britton was quick to praise his teammates when reflecting on the result.
"It was a good game for all the lads," the midfielder told the club's website. "Three goals, none conceded and through to the next round.
"I've been on the side going to a team higher up the divisions than you, and we knew they would give everything, so we had to make sure we matched up tonight.
"The attitude was right from the players, which should be a given anyway, but the boys showed that. We were confident that with the quality we've got, we'd come through and win the game."
Swansea will visit Hull City in the third round.
