Good afternoon! It is a busy day of action in the Premier League with six games kicking off at 3pm, but here our focus will be on the events that are taking place at Goodison Park, as Everton take on Swansea City.

Everton are starting to build some momentum in recent weeks after a difficult opening to the season. They had gone three games without a win until they beat Aston Villa and they followed that up last weekend with a 3-1 victory against Burnley.

Swansea had not claimed a victory throughout September, but they ended a winless run of five matches by beating Leicester City 2-0 last weekend. However, they come into tonight's match having been dumped out of the League Cup following a late turnaround by Liverpool in midweek.

So, that's how both teams will be lining up this afternoon. The headline news for Everton fans is that Samuel Eto'o keeps his place in the side after finding the net twice at Turf Moor last weekend. Steven Naismith also retains his spot, but Romelu Lukaku drops to the bench with Ross Barkley starting ahead of him.

The only other change made by Roberto Martinez from the team that beat Burnley sees Aiden McGeady come back into the team in place of Leon Osman. The back four has a rather settled look to it now, with Leighton Baines and Seamus Coleman occupying the full back roles and Phil Jagielka being partnered by Antolin Alcaraz.

Meanwhile, Swansea have made four changes to the side that were beaten 2-1 by Liverpool in the League Cup. Ki Sung-yueng, Wilfried Bony, Wayne Routledge and Gylfi Sigurdsson are the players that come into the side, while Federico Fernandez is able to play after winning his appeal against the red card he received at Anfield.

It's fair to say that Everton haven't quite hit the ground running this season. In their first two games they were held to 2-2 draws against Leicester City and Arsenal, having conceded late on in both of those clashes. They then suffered a heavy 6-3 defeat at the hands of Chelsea and had to wait until after the international break to win their first match of the campaign against West Bromwich Albion.

They could not build upon that victory at the Hawthorns and lost two of their next three matches, although had Phil Jagielka not struck a stoppage-time equaliser at Anfield, then it would have been three league defeats on the spin.

In the last couple of weeks though, they seem to be finding their best form and have won their last two games in the league. A 3-0 win against Aston Villa was followed up by a 3-1 win at Burnley last Saturday.

Although their league form hasn't been great, they are currently unbeaten in Europe. A thumping win over Wolfsburg and draws away to Lille and Krasnodar has seen them top their Europa League group, leaving them well placed to reach the last 32.

If Everton's start to the season was poor, then it is safe to say that Swansea experienced the complete opposite. They began their league campaign in stunning fashion by beating Manchester United 2-1 on the opening day of the season. That was followed up with victories over Burnley and West Brom before the first international break.

Upon their return to action, they suffered their first defeat against league leaders Chelsea and failed to bounce back from that by suffering a 1-0 defeat at home to Southampton. Draws against Sunderland and Newcastle United followed, before a defeat at Stoke City made it five league games without a win.

They ended that barren run last Saturday by claiming a 2-0 victory against Leicester City. Wilfried Bony scored both goals that day for the Swans, as they moved up to sixth place in the Premier League table.

Before this season's League Cup match, Swansea had never beaten Everton. In fact, the Toffees had won 15 of their previous 20 matches including every game that the two teams have played in the Premier League.

PREDICTION: This is a tough game to call and I don't see a repeat of their League Cup match last month. Everton are in slightly better form than their opponents and they have had the advantage of not playing in midweek, although Swansea will feel slightly aggrieved at their defeat against Liverpool last time out. I think we will see an open and attacking game of football this afternoon and I can see it finishing in a draw, with 2-2 my prediction of the score.

As we approach kick off we could be in for a record today, as Leighton Baines, who has set up 43 goals in the Premier League, needs just one more assist to break the record set for a defender by Graeme Le Saux.

We are now just three minutes away from the start of the match and both teams are out on the pitch. There will be a minutes silence before the kick off in advance of next weekend's Remembrance Sunday.

KICKOFF! We are underway at Goodison Park!

CHANCE! The hosts make a great start to this match and they are nearly ahead inside the first 30 seconds. McGeady charges down the right and delivers a teasing cross that the Swansea defence fail to deal with. The ball is eventually played to Eto'o just inside the box, but he is unable to get enough power on his shot to trouble Fabianski.

Both teams have had a shot on goal in the first minute, as Swansea break at pace with Bony leading the charge. The forward gets within range of Howard's goal and trys his luck, but his powerful strike is always going over the bar and doesn't trouble the keeper.

It has been a very open and entertaining start to the match and there is a lot of space for both teams to play their passing brand of football. Bony is looking particularly dangerous and he gets another shot away which has to be blocked on the edge of the box.

CHANCE! I just spoke about how dangerous Bony is looking and the striker almost gives his side the lead. He is slipped in by a wonderful pass from Sigurdsson, but with just Howard to beat he places his low shot just wide of the keeper's near post.

Everton win the first corner of the match following Barkley's effort from range that takes a deflection off Fernandez on it's way behind. However, they are unable to make anything count from the set piece, as the delivery is easily cleared.

SAVE! The shots on goal continue to come and McGeady tries his luck with a stinging drive looking for the bottom corner. Fabianski gets down well to make the save, but he can't prevent the ball from going behind for the corner.

CHANCE! The hosts win a free kick just outside the box when Eto'o is brought down and Baines steps up to take the set piece. It is a decent effort from the full back, but his curling effort goes just wide of the post.

McGeady is looking a real threat down the right and the Swans are struggling to contain his runs. He is whipping some decent balls into the box and when his latest cross is cleared to Barry, the midfielder tries his luck from 25 yards out, but he fires his effort straight down the middle and the keeper makes the save.

Swansea have a big shout for a penalty here as Shelvey does to work some space just outside the box, before firing in a low strike that hits Alcaraz on the hand. Nothing is given though by the referee and that is another decision that will infuriate Garry Monk.

Everton are very much in control at the moment and are dominating the possession. They are still finding it tough to get in behind the Swansea defence, who are holding a solid line through the middle

YELLOW CARD! Shelvey is the first player to pick up a booking this afternoon for a poor challenge on Barkley in the centre of the pitch.

It looks like Everton may have to make a change, as Alcaraz appears to have suffered a shoulder injury while challenging Bony for the ball during a corner.

SUBSTITUTION: Everton do indeed make the change and it's Besic who comes on for Alcaraz. That will require a slight reshuffle at the back from the hosts, with Barry expected to fill in at centre back.

It's all Everton at the moment and they win a free kick on the right after McCarthy is fouled by Montero. Baines takes the set piece and his ball into the middle is met by Jagielka, who ends up putting his header over the bar.

YELLOW CARD! It's another card for the Swans and it's Bony who gets it for a foul on McCarthy.

The game has become rather scrappy over the last 10 minutes and we have seen a number of poor tackles from each side. It is not quite the free-flowing game of football that we saw in the opening minutes, but there is enough in Everton's forward play to suggest that we might see a goal before the break.

YELLOW CARD! It's proving to be challenging afternoon for referee Kevin Friend who hands out another booking. This time Barry is shown the yellow for a foul on Sigurdsson.

Everton pile on the pressure as the half comes to an end and they cause a moment of panic inside the Swansea box when a corner falls kindly to Eto'o. The striker has his back to goal and can't get a shot away so plays it to Naismith, but just as he shoots his effort is blocked and the visitors manage to clear.

Swansea are being pegged back deeper and deeper inside their own half and they will be hoping that they can hang on until half time. They have had to face eight corners, but so far they have defended strongly and have coped well under the pressure.

There are going to be three minutes of added time at the end of the half.

Kevin Friend brings the first half to an end and it's still goalless between Everton and Swansea. Everton have completely dominated the possession, but it's Swansea who have had the best chance when Bony fired wide.

The statistics back up the dominance that Everton had in the first 45 minutes. They have had a huge 71% of the ball, which is no mean feat against a side like Swansea. The hosts have also had 11 shots on goal compared to five from the Swans, but they are yet to really fashion a clear cut chance.

The best opportunity in the match has undoubtedly fallen for Wilfried Bony. The Ivorian found himself through on goal, but placed his shot wide of the post. The Swans also had a genuine claim for a penalty when a shot from Jonjo Shelvey hit Antolin Alcaraz's hand, but the referee waved away their appeals.

There have only been three other goals in the games currently taking place in the Premier League. Chelsea are 1-0 up against Queens Park Rangers, a long range effort from Victor Wanyama has given Southampton a 1-0 lead against Hull City and Stoke City are also winning by the same scoreline against West Ham United.

Both sets of teams are making their way back out onto the pitch and the second half should be getting started in just a few moments.

We haven't seen a shot on goal so far in the half and it looks like Everton are thinking about making a change, with Lukaku now warming up on the sidelines.

Swansea are almost in as Barry makes a complete mess of dealing with Montero's ball forward and doesn't realize that Routledge is behind him. He manages to recover in time though and gets a foot in to stop the winger from bursting through.

CHANCE! The visitors have have made a decent start to the half and they have another sight of goal when Bony plays the ball into the path of Shelvey. The midfielder is being closed down quickly and has to get a shot away quickly on the edge of the box, but he ends up putting his strike wide of the post.

Garry Monk will be pleased at what he has seen from his players since the break and they look much more of a threat. They are still yet to have a shot on target though, as Sigurdsson blazes a volley high over the bar from a decent position just inside the box.

YELLOW CARD! Williams is the third player to pick up a card for the visitors this afternoon as he brings down Coleman just outside the box.

Baines steps up to take the resulting set piece, but again he is unable to test the keeper and puts his effort over the bar.

So far this second half has completely mirrored what happened before the break. Swansea are the team that are in control and they are getting into some good positions inside their opponents' half. The one thing that Monk will want is for them to test Howard and it seems that Gomis may be coming on shortly.

SUBSTITUTION: Swansea make their first change of the match and it is Gomis who comes on to replace Bony.

CHANCE! Everton haven't threatened in quite some time but they come close as a poor header from Williams sets Naismith free. The Scot then finds McGeady on the right, who drives forward to the edge of the box and fires in a strike that ends up going wide of the far post.

YELLOW CARD! Swansea are shown their fourth booking of the contest, with Sigurdsson the man penalised for a tug on Besic.

SUBSTITUTION: Everton have made a double change, with Lukaku and Pienaar coming on for McGeady and Naismith.

The visitors are sensing that there is a real opportunity for them to take the three points as they crank up the pressure even more. There is a slight nervousness in the crowd and they can see that Swansea are the team looking the more likely to make the breakthrough.

RED CARD! Swansea have been the better team this second half, but they will finish the match with 10 men. Shelvey is the man who is sent off for picking up his second yellow card for a foul on McCarthy. It was a challenge that he probably didn't need to make and it has left his team facing an uphill battle.

CHANCE! The hosts are looking to make their numerical advantage count straight away and Jagielka comes close to finding the net when his downwards header following a free kick ends up bouncing up just over the bar.

SUBSTITUTION: Swansea make a change to deal with going down to 10 men as Carroll comes on for Sigurdsson.

SUBSTITUTION: The visitors make their final change of the match, with Dyer replacing Montero.

Swansea could yet grab the three points as they win a free kick in a promising position on the left-hand touchline. Ki steps up and fires a teasing cross into the box, but the Everton defence do well to clear.

The pressure from Everton is really starting to build, but they are yet to get in behind the Swansea backline. They have found it tough all afternoon and surely it will be even more difficult with almost everyone back behind the ball for Swansea now.

Everton continue to search for the winning goal and they win a a succession of corners. One of them almost leads to a goal, as Williams gets a clearance in just as Luakaku is about to meet the delivery from Baines.

There are going to be four minutes of stoppage time.

CHANCE! This just might be the big chance that Everton were searching for. The ball is whipped in from the right and drops kindly to Pienaar just inside the box. He has to get his shot away quickly as he is being closed down, but it is a poor effort and ends up heading wide of the far post.

It's all over at Goodison Park and the game has ended in a goalless draw. Everton were perhaps the better side over the course of the 90 minutes, but the visitors did well to hang on after Shelvey was sent off.
