Swansea City have lost their appeal to overturn goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski's red card against West Ham United.
The Pole was dismissed after fouling Hammers striker Diafra Sakho during Swansea's 3-1 defeat at Upton Park on Sunday.
Swans boss Garry Monk confirmed after the match that the club would be appealing the decision, claiming that Sakho had handled the ball moments before the collision.
However, Fabianski will now serve a one-game suspension with immediate effect following an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing on Tuesday.
Swansea continue their Premier League campaign this Sunday when they welcome Tottenham Hotspur to the Liberty Stadium.
