Swansea City eased past Newcastle United 3-0 at the Liberty Stadium this evening.
Nathan Dyer scored in first-half stoppage time before Mathieu Debuchy put through his own net in the second. Jonjo Shelvey struck an effort nine minutes from time to end the Magpies' four-game winning streak in the Premier League.
Loic Remy nearly gave the visitors the lead after 13 minutes but his header was well saved by Michel Vorm in the Swans' goal following a cross from Debuchy.
Chico Flores struck a long-range effort for the home side on 26 minutes, but Tim Krul was able to watch it flash wide of the post.
Remy had another chance on the half-hour mark, but the Frenchman dragged his shot
wide from distance after finding some space between midfield and defence.
With the half seemingly heading for a goalless draw, Dyer struck when he drilled home in stoppage time.
The Swans had their second after the break when a quick counter saw Shelvey race through on goal. His effort was saved by Krul before Debuchy before the ball went in off Debuchy after he had chased the Swans midfielder back.
Shelvey put the gloss on the result towards the end when he curled an effort beyond Krul in the Newcastle goal.
