Swansea City defender Chico Flores has admitted that he has enjoyed a better first season at the Premier League club than he originally expected.
Flores has signed a new contract with the Swans to keep him in Wales until 2016, and the Spanish defender has revealed that he had no hesitation in extending his stay at the Liberty Stadium.
The 26-year-old told Wales Online: "Everything has gone better than I ever expected considering I only arrived in Wales in the summer. In my debut season, the club has won its first major trophy and are safe again for another year in the Premier League.
"It's been a fantastic experience and a massive achievement for the club, both individually and collectively.
"I had no hesitation in signing a new contract for a number of reasons, but mainly because I can only see the team and the club growing."
The former Real Mallorca centre-back has made 20 appearances in the Premier League this season.
