Swansea City have confirmed the signing of former Lyon striker Bafetimbi Gomis on a free transfer.
The 28-year-old agreed a four-year contract and passed a medical at the Liberty Stadium on Friday, and he will join the Swans subject to international clearance.
Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur had previously been credited with an interest in the French international, who netted 22 and 25 goals respectively in his last two seasons at Lyon.
Gomis, who turned down a new deal at Stade de Gerland to move to Wales, is Garry Monk's second free transfer of the summer after Lukas Fabianksi, and will compete with Wilfried Bony for a starting berth.
Ivorian striker Bony has been linked with a move across the Premier League to Everton.
