A goalless first half offered little by way of entertainment, defender Scott McManus coming closest for the visitors.
Favourites Halifax improved after the break, and finally broke through on 57 minutes when Matty Pearson finished past Freddy Hall in the Telford goal.
The result leaves FC Halifax in sixth on 48 points, while AFC Telford United stay bottom, nine points from safety.
