Sassuolo have ended their two-game winless streak in Serie A with a late 1-0 victory at Torino.
The hosts created the first meaningful chance on 16 minutes as Omar El Kaddouri found some space in the box before hitting a powerful effort towards goal, but goalkeeper Andrea Consigli kept the ball out.
Torino had a glorious opportunity to take the lead 15 minutes later when they were awarded a penalty following a foul by Paolo Cannavaro, but Consigli came to his side's rescue again by saving the resulting spot kick from Juan Manuel Sanchez Mino.
Following an underwhelming display in the first half, Sassuolo came to life at the start of the second as Domenico Berardi and Matteo Brighi were both denied by Jean-Francois Gillet.
The hosts continued to turn the screw during the final 30 minutes as Simone Zaza blasted over from close range, though Torino continued to pose a threat on the counter-attack.
Fabio Quagliarella was thwarted by Consigli with 64 minutes played, but it was Sassuolo who claimed the points with just three minutes remaining when Antonio Floro Flores headed past Gillet.
