Torino captain Kamil Glik scored the only goal of the game as his team beat Napoli 1-0 in Serie A this evening.
Both teams had scoring chances in the opening two minutes as first Josef Martinez's shot flew wide of the target before Jonathan de Guzman's effort was tipped round the post by Torino goalkeeper Daniele Padelli.
Omar El Kaddouri shot wide in the 13th minute and Fabio Quagliarella's strike was then blocked 10 minutes later.
In the 34th minute, good play from Quagliarella set up Alexander Farnerud, but the Swede scuffed his shot into the arms of Mariano Andujar.
De Guzman then saw a long-range effort saved by Padelli before the break as the two sides went into half time still searching for the opening goal.
Glik found it in the 67th minute, meeting Farnerud's corner inside the box to nod a downward header home.
The defender nearly found the net again four minutes later, but this time his header was saved by Andujar.
Manolo Gabbiadini came within inches of equalising with 12 minutes remaining, but his free kick from 20 yards out rebounded off the left post.
The striker had another chance to rescue a point for his side late on, but he could only shoot wide of the target in injury time.
Following the result, Torino are now unbeaten in their last 13 matches. They move up to eighth in the Serie A table, while Napoli remain in third.
