Torino striker Ciro Immobile has admitted that he is determined to win a place in Italy's squad for this summer's World Cup.
The 24-year-old has scored 13 goals for his club in Serie A this season, and it is believed that he will be included in Cesare Prandelli's team for the Azzurri's midweek friendly with Spain.
"I am proud that the national team Coach is tracking me," he told Tuttosport. "A call up from him would be a great feeling, but it doesn't matter if it doesn't happen this time.
"Last year I wasn't even in the top 50 players. I am developing little by little and that is what matters.
"Two years ago I was in Serie B, last year I made my debut in Serie A and this year I am part of a team that is playing very well and is in the top half of the table."
Immobile has not won a cap at senior level, but has represented Italy at the Under-20 and the Under-21 levels.
