Sports Mole previews Sunday's Women's Super League clash between Tottenham Hotspur Ladies and Leicester Women, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.
Sports Mole

Tottenham Hotspur Ladies will wrap up their Women's Super League season with a home game against Leicester Women on Sunday.

The hosts are winless in their last seven matches, while the visitors have also failed to win any of their previous seven games in all competitions.

Match preview

Tottenham have fallen away from the top three in the last couple of months after losing five of their last six games.

As a result of their poor run of form, Spurs can finish no higher than the fifth place that they currently occupy, although they could still drop down to sixth position.

The hosts will be in a particularly downbeat mood after they lost 3-0 to Arsenal in the North London derby in midweek, with Caitlin Foord netting a brace in that contest for the Gunners.

Although the Arsenal defeat took place at the Emirates Stadium, Spurs have not fared much better on home turf in recent weeks after losing their last three home contests.

Their defence, however, has been strong in home surroundings demonstrated by the fact that only Chelsea and Arsenal have conceded fewer home league goals than Spurs this season.

The Foxes, meanwhile, head into Sunday's encounter with a sense of relief following Birmingham City's defeat to Manchester City in midweek, which confirmed Birmingham's relegation to the second tier.

They would have also been relieved to end a run of six consecutive defeats last weekend after playing out a goalless draw with Reading.

With a second season in the top flight now assured, the Foxes may be tempted to take their foot off the gas, although Lydia Bedford will be urging her team to end the season with a win.

They may be guaranteed to remain in the WSL, but Leicester's away form will not offer too much hope, with their last four away matches ending in defeat.

Bedford will be particularly concerned by the fact that her side conceded 18 goals in those four away contests.

Team News

The hosts are expected to be without the services of Ria Percival and Kit Graham, with the pair set to miss out due to injury issues.

Evelina Summanen dropped down to the bench for the North London derby, but the 23-year-old may return to the starting lineup for Sunday's contest.

Meanwhile, Tinja-Riikka Korpela came into the side in midweek, and the goalkeeper is expected to retain her place for the Leicester clash.

As for the visitors, they will be unable to call upon Lachante Paul, Hannah Cain and Jess Sigsworth, who are ruled out due to injury problems.

Natasha Flint could return to the starting lineup for the Foxes after dropping to the bench last weekend.

There will also be a place in the side for Abbie McManus, who has started the last two matches for Leicester.

Tottenham Hotspur Ladies possible starting lineup:
Korpela; Neville, Bartrip, Zadorsky; Naz, Green, Summanen, Clemaron, Harrop; Williams, Ayane

Leicester Women possible starting lineup:
Lambourne; De Graaf, Howard, Plumptre, Purfield; Flint, Tierney, McManus, Pike, Gregory; O'Brien

We say: Tottenham Hotspur Ladies 2-0 Leicester Women

With Sunday's contest taking place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, we think that the hosts will be motivated to put on a show for the home fans, which could result in Spurs collecting all three points.
