Now, you may have heard that a certain controversial character could be making his way back to the Premier League. Widespread reports have claimed that Liverpool are in talks with AC Milan to sign former Manchester City striker Mario Balotelli. The Italian was linked with Arsenal earlier in the window, but it appears that Reds manager Brendan Rodgers is targeting a permanent deal for Balotelli following the sale of Luis Suarez to Barcelona.
Should Liverpool sign Mr 'Why Always Me?', the Merseyside outfit will have sealed their ninth summer signing following the arrivals of Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert, Emre Can, Lazar Markovic, Dejan Lovren, Divock Origi, Javier Manquillo and Alberto Moreno.
Let's stay in Merseyside for a moment and turn to Everton. Manager Roberto Martinez has told reporters today that he is "happy" with his squad, suggesting that his summer spending, which included the £28m capture of Romelu Lukaku, is over.
UPDATE! AC Milan's in-house TV channel has reportedly confirmed that the club are in talks with Liverpool regarding the sale of Mario Balotelli. Both parties are believed to be discussing a £17.5m fee for the Italian striker.
Moving to North London and Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has hinted to reporters that he is open to signing a defensive midfielder and another defender before the transfer deadline on September 1. The Gunners have acquired the signatures of Alexis Sanchez, Mathieu Debuchy, David Ospina and Calum Chambers so far this summer.
Mario Balotelli's reported transfer to Liverpool appears to be moving at a rapid pace, with press in Italy claiming that the 24-year-old striker has confirmed that today will be his last day at the Serie A outfit.
West Ham United have been busy in the transfer window this summer, but manager Sam Allardyce has revealed to the press this morning that they're not done yet. The Hammers boss is keen to bring in defensive cover before the window shuts on September 1.

Moving back down the the Championship now, and Watford midfielder Lewis McGugan is said to be in huge demand with a number of clubs chasing his signature. The 25-year-old has impressed at the Hornets since making the move from Nottingham Forest last season, and he may now be on the move once more.
It could be a busy week or so for Manchester United with more and more players being linked to the Red Devils as the days go by. The latest is Cruzeiro midfielder Lucas Silva, who is reportedly close to joining the Old Trafford outfit for £12m.

The Three Lions coach says that some players would benefit from regular first-time action abroad, rather than sitting on the bench.
Hull City lost Shane Long to Southampton earlier this month, and they have now eyed up Blackburn Rovers talisman Jordan Rhodes as a replacement. Rovers manager Gary Bowyer confirmed earlier today that a bid has been made by the Premier League club.

According to BBC Sport, Liverpool have agreed a £16m fee with Milan for the Italian international, who bid farewell to his teammates at training today.
Georgios Samaras is still looking for a club after leaving Celtic, and West Bromwich Albion boss Alan Irvine has confirmed that he has made enquiries about the Greek international.
As reported earlier, Blackburn Rovers confirmed that Hull City have made an approach for Jordan Rhodes, but it is believed that the Championship club have rebuffed the Tigers' offer.
Swansea City manager Garry Monk reveals that he wants "two or three" more signings before the end of the transfer window in 11 days' time.
