Sports Mole provides updates of all the latest transfer headlines as they emerge throughout the day.

Welcome to Sports Mole's live transfer blog on Friday, August 21.

The clock is ticking as football clubs home and abroad have just 11 days until the summer transfer window ceases for business.

The Premier League have splashed more than £500m on players so far, but with just over a week left to go, it would take a number of late deals to reach last summer's total of £835m.

Rest assured, we will provide updates of all the latest transfer news as it emerges throughout the day.

Happy Friday everyone! Wouldn't it be nice to start the football weekend with some juicy transfer gossip? Fingers crossed the transfer mill doesn't let us down today. We're edging closer to that stage of the window when clubs begin to panic buy in an attempt to complete their squads for the first half of the season. Eleven days remain for clubs to buy and sell players, but after that, they will have to wait until January to make any changes. Stick with us throughout the day and you won't miss a thing.
To kickstart the day, let's bring you some news regarding Chelsea's transfer activity. At the start of the window, Jose Mourinho seemed relatively quiet in the market, but it appears that the club are making a late splurge following the signing of Pedro from Barcelona. Now, according to The Express, the Premier League champions are willing to spend £120m on Everton defender John Stones and Juventus star Paul Pogba. What do you make of that, Chelsea fans?
Another club who have spent a lot of money this summer is Liverpool, but this time, they are keen to keep hold of a current player as opposed to bringing in a new one. The Daily Star reports that the Merseyside outfit have offered Mamadou Sakho a new contract. Manager Brendan Rodgers has not played the defender in their first two games of the season, but the Northern Irishman is said to have Sakho in his plans.
It's that time again for our morning transfer roundup. Click here to read all the latest gossip involving Thomas Muller, Sadio Mane and David de Gea.
Let's turn our attention to Sunderland now. The Black Cats have had a poor start to the season having lost two Premier League games already, and it is believed that head coach Dick Advocaat is keen to bring in some new faces before the September 1 deadline. According to the Chronicle, Jonathan de Guzman is on the club's wanted list. The Netherlands international was heavily linked with a move to Marseille last week.

UPDATE! It appears as though it is just a matter of time before Tottenham Hotspur defender Federico Fazio becomes a West Bromwich Albion player. According to Sky Sports News, the Argentine is due to undergo a medical today before completing a £5m switch. Read more.

DONE DEAL! A big signing for MK Dons as they have captured Norwich starlet Josh Murphy on a season-long loan. Winger Murphy, 20, made 29 appearances for Norwich last season.
DONE DEAL! QPR have just confirmed their 11th signing of the summer after capturing Huddersfield Town keeper Alex Smithies for an undisclosed fee. Smithies, 25, was Town's longest serving player with over 250 appearances since his debut in 2008.

DONE DEAL! It's non-stop today! Blackburn Rovers have won the race to sign Manchester United winger Tom Lawrence on loan. A number of Championship clubs were interested but Rovers have snuck in ahead of the queue to grab the Welshman. Read more about it here.
UPDATE! Brentford striker Andre Gray is reportedly undergoing a medical, not at Bristol City or Hull City as first rumoured, but at Burnley. Gray impressed with 18 goals in his maiden season at Brentford, and if the deal goes ahead it is thought to be worth £9m.

DONE DEAL! Newcastle United midfielder and one-cap Algerian Mehdi Abeid has joined Panathinaikos for an undisclosed fee. The 23-year-old made 21 appearances in all competitions since joining from Lens in 2011.
Everton manager Roberto Martinez has been asked about the reports that John Stones has lodged a transfer request in order to force through a move to Chelsea. As far as the Spaniard is concerned, the England defender has done no such thing. Despite Martinez's claims, there appears to be no end to the rumours as Chelsea are believed to be preparing a fourth bid worth £40m. It seems like they really want their man!
Arsenal fans, your club has not been the busiest in this summer window so far having only signed Petr Cech from Chelsea. However, perhaps all is not lost as manager Arsene Wenger has admitted that he "expects" new signings before the deadline. Don't get too excited though, as the Frenchman added in this morning's press conference that the club are "not close" to any deals.
NEW DEAL! Real Madrid have announced that Pepe has put pen to paper on a one-year contract extension. The defender has now been tied down to the club until the summer of 2017. Read more.

There's been plenty of press conferences this morning - one of which was held by West Bromwich Albion boss Tony Pulis. The coach confirmed that the club are on the verge of signing Tottenham Hotspur defender Federico Fazio, but he stressed that the Argentine's arrival will not affect Saido Berahino's future. Earlier this week, the Baggies rejected a bid for the forward from Spurs.
Let's stay in the Premier League, but switch focus to Norwich City. According to The Telegraph, the newly-promoted top-flight side have had a £1.5m bid rejected by Stoke City for Jonathan Walters.
NEW DEAL! Tottenham Hotspur have announced that 22-year-old Alex Pritchard has put pen to paper on a four-year contract following an impressive loan spell at Brentford last season. Read more.

As you're aware, Wolfsburg midfielder Kevin de Bruyne has been heavily linked with a move to Manchester City. Reports have claimed that the former Premier League champions may have to pay upwards of £50m for the former Chelsea player. When asked about the latest rumours in today's press conference, Man City boss Manuel Pellegrini refused to discuss the speculation. He told reporters: "I don't talk about rumours. When things are finished then I will talk about them." So, what have we learned? Not much.
Two lines to bring you now - Bournemouth have reportedly launched an official bid for Crystal Palace striker Glenn Murray, while down in the Championship, Birmingham City have completed the signing of Denmark Under-21 international Nicolai Brock-Madsen from Randers.
Not a strictly transfer activity, but Aston Villa have announced that midfielder Gary Gardner has signed a new three-year contract at the club. Gardner spent the end of last season on loan at Nottingham Forest, and Forest boss Dougie Freedman said a fortnight ago that he wants to bring the midfielder back to the City Ground on a temporary basis this season.
Arsene Wenger earlier revealed that he "expects" Arsenal to bring in more players before the end of the month, and now he has also insisted that he is eager to keep forward Joel Campbell, who spent last season on loan at Villarreal, at the club this season.
There is a former Arsenal player on the move, however, as ex-Gunners midfielder Thomas Eisfield leaves Championship side Fulham to sign on a permanent deal for VfL Bochum, where he spent time on loan at the end of last season.
As you may remember from around two hours ago, Manuel Pellegrini refused to discuss a move for Kevin de Bruyne at his press conference today. However, it appears as though the deal may have taken a huge step towards completion, with a report claiming that the German player of the year's representatives have agreed personal terms with Manchester City.
Norwich City striker Gary Hooper has been linked with a return to his former club Celtic this summer, but Canaries boss Alex Neil is adamant that there has been no concrete interest in the 27-year-old.
He's been frozen out this season by manager Mark Yates but striker Izale McLeod could finally get his move away from Crawley Town after reports that Notts County have had a second bid accepted by their League Two rivals.
Back to the Premier League now, and there's some bad news for West Bromwich Albion fans as Federico Fazio's £5m move from Tottenham Hotspur to The Hawthorns has reportedly broken down over personal terms.
He only arrived on Wednesday night but new Newcastle United signing Florian Thauvin is already raising expectations by insisting that he will live up to his £12m price tag once he settles into life in the Premier League.
Shrewsbury Town lost promising defender Connor Goldson to Brighton and Hove Albion on Wednesday but they have wasted no time in bringing in a replacement, signing 21-year-old Sam Patterson on a one-year deal after his release from Barnsley.
It is a deal that has been edging closer all week, and it seems as though Shaun Maloney will fly into the UK later today to complete his move to Hull City.
He had been linked with Hull City and Bristol City for a fee of around £9m, but it is Burnley who have sealed the signing of Brentford striker Andre Gray for an undisclosed fee.
It looks like AS Monaco could miss out on a place in the group stage of the Champions League after losing the first leg of their playoff 3-1 to Valencia. Missing out could also cost them one of their star players, as midfielder Joao Moutinho will reportedly leave the club if they fail to secure a group spot.
DONE DEAL! Serie A resumes this weekend, and Lazio have managed to add another player to their squad in preparation for the new season, re-signing former captain Stefano Mauri, who was only released by the side in June.
Ivan Perisic has been linked with a move to Inter Milan this summer, and it sounds like the move is imminent, as the Wolfsburg winger's agent has confirmed that he will sign a contract with the Serie A club next week.
Jermaine Pennant has been looking for a new club since coming to the end of his deal with Wigan Athletic last season. It looks like he could be on the verge of joining Charlton Athletic, having spent the week on trial with the London club.
LOAN! Barcelona youngster Alen Halilovic will be hoping to get some more first-team experience this season, having agreed to spend the year on loan with newly-promoted La Liga side Sporting Gijon.
Arsenal striker Joel Campbell has barely played for the club since signing for the Gunners in 2004, making four appearances in the Premier League last season. The Costa Rica international has had a string of loan spells away from the London side, and it looks like he could be moving away again, with Lazio expressing an interest in the 23-year-old.
Paris Saint-Germain have been linked with a number of defenders in recent weeks, and it looks like another has caught their eye. Real Madrid left-back Fabio Coentrao has struggled to secure a regular spot in the team over the last year, resulting in the French champions reportedly attempting to bring him to Parc des Princes.
Well here's one of the more eye-catching stories of the day. Manchester United missed out on signing Barcelona winger Pedro earlier this week, as he joined Chelsea instead. However, The Sun is now claiming that Ed Woodward also held talks over a move for Neymar during his trip to Catalonia. The Brazilian is of course under contract with the Spanish champions, where he's already won a string of trophies, so it does seem unlikely that he would be looking to move, even for a club like Manchester United. It would certainly be a big coup for the club.
Jason Denayer had an impressive season on loan with Celtic during the 2014-15 campaign, and it appears that's done enough to catch the eye of Marseille. The Dutch international is in talks with the French side, according to his agent.
Speculation that Chelsea are interested in Paul Pogba re-emerged this week. However, it looks like the Premier League champions are willing to spend bid to secure the Juventus midfielder, as reports in Italy claim that they have made a world record breaking bid for the 22-year-old.
It wouldn't be Transfer Talk without at least one De Gea story so here it is - and it's a BIG one as Louis van Gaal confirms that the Real Madrid target WILL be staying at Old Trafford. The man has spoken. More on this in HERE!
Likewise, John Stones is another transfer saga that has dominated the back pages over the past month or so, and his Everton teammate Romelu Lukaku - formerly of Chelsea, of course - has advised him to snub a move to Stamford Bridge. Is he right? Read what he had to say in HERE!
