Udinese and Sassuolo were both unable to find a way through as their Serie A match at the Stadio Friuli ended in a goalless draw.
The hosts made a promising start to the match and Bruno Fernandes threatened with a strike from a tight angle that was blocked at the near post.
However, Antonio Floro Flores soon came within inches of giving Sassuolo the lead, as his low strike from inside the box clipped the post on its way behind.
The visitors threatened again when Gregoire Defrel worked some room and crashed in a strike that had to be kept out by Orestis Karnezis.
After the break Molla Wague had Udinese's best moment when his close-range attempt from a corner was turned behind by Andrea Consigli, but it proved to be the final chance of the match as the game finished all square.
