Seeking to snap their three-game winless run, Union play host to Godoy Cruz at the Estadio 15 de Abril in round 10 of the Argentine Primera Division on Monday.
Meanwhile, Rodolfo Diego Flores's side, who are currently unbeaten in seven consecutive outings across all competitions, could move top of the league standings with all three points.
Match preview
Union failed to return to winning ways in the Argentine Primera Division as they fought back from two goals down to salvage a thrilling 2-2 draw away to San Lorenzo last Wednesday.
After trailing 2-0 at half time courtesy of goals from Adam Bareiro and Nahuel Barrios, the Tatengue upped the ante in the second period as Diego Polenta and Tomas Gonzalez netted to force a share of the spoils.
Prior to that, Gustavo Munua's men saw their three-game winning streak in the league come to an end as they were held to a goalless draw by a dogged Huracan side on July 7.
Union have now failed to taste victory in three straight games across all competitions, suffering a 2-1 cup defeat against Banfield on July 13 before picking up draws against Huracan and San Lorenzo respectively.
With 15 points from nine points, the Monday's hosts are currently ninth in the Primera Division table, level on points with Gimnasia Esgrima and Racing Club.
While Union will be looking to return to winning ways, they have struggled for results on home turf, where they have managed just one win in six matches, losing three and claiming two draws.
Elsewhere, Godoy Cruz failed to move top of the league standings last time out as they were held to a goalless draw by Huracan at the Estadio Tomas Adolfo Duco.
In a game where Gianluca Ferrari received his marching orders, both sides were guilty of wasteful displays in the final third as they failed to tuck home any of their goalscoring opportunities.
Prior to that, Diego Flores's side were on a four-game winning streak across all competitions, including a 3-1 victory away to Lanus in the round of 32 of the Copa Argentina on July 13.
Godoy Cruz now head into Monday unbeaten in seven games on the trot, claiming five wins and two draws since a 1-0 defeat at the hands of Rosario Central on June 16.
With 17 points from nine games, the Bodeguero are currently fourth in the Primera Division table, level on points with third-placed Platense and two off first-placed Argentinos Juniors.

Team News
Union will take to the pitch without the attacking duo of Matias Gallegos and Daniel Juarez, who are currently recuperating from thigh injuries.
Thirty-four-year-old Jonatan Alvez sprained his knee against Nacional on July 5 and the Uruguay international is set to sit out his fifth consecutive game.
Meanwhile, Godoy Cruz will be without the services of 25-year-old defender Gianluca Ferrari, who is currently suspended after receiving his marching orders in the game against Huracan last Thursday.
In his absence, former Newell's Old Boys man Guillermo Ortiz will push for his seventh start of the season, forming a centre-back partnership with veteran defender Pier Barrios.
Martin Ojeda has been pivotal in the Bodeguero's solid start to the season and the 23-year-old midfielder, who hosts seven goal involvements in nine appearances, will certainly be one to keep an eye out for.
Union possible starting lineup:
Mele; Gerometta, Aguero, Polenta, Esquivel; Castrillon, Nardoni, Portillo, Zenon; Diale, Bauer
Godoy Cruz possible starting lineup:
D Rodriguez; Breitenbruch, Barrios, Ortiz, Negri, Acevedo, Abrego; Allende, Bullaude, Ojeda; S Rodriguez
We say: Union 1-2 Godoy Cruz
With just two points separating the sides in the top half of the table, we expect a thrilling and hard-fought contest on Monday. Godoy Cruz have managed just one win in five away games this season and we predict that the hosts will do just enough to deny them all three points once again.
