USA captain Clint Dempsey has praised the character of his teammates after they qualified for the second round, despite losing to Germany.
A solitary Thomas Muller goal was enough to give Joachim Low's side victory and top spot in Group G, but Jurgen Klinsmann's charges still managed to qualify for the last 16 and Dempsey suggests that there is more to come from the Americans.
He is quoted by USA Today as saying: "We have a team that has a lot of heart, a lot of character. We keep going and keep fighting."
Dempsey has scored twice so far in the tournament for the Stars and Stripes.
