Gary Neville recorded his first win in charge of Valencia as the Spanish top-flight team beat Barakaldo in the second leg of their last-32 Copa del Rey clash at the Mestalla this evening.
Los Che entered the match boasting a 3-1 lead from the first leg of their tie with the Segunda B league leaders, but the second leg saw Neville taste his first victory at the helm.
It was a comfortable night for the home side, who took the lead in the eighth minute through Santi Mina, before Alvaro Negredo made it 2-0 just past the 30-minute mark.
Neville, who replaced Nuno Espirito Santo at the helm last month, will be in the hot-seat for this weekend's La Liga clash against Getafe.
Athletic Bilbao were the big winners on Wednesday in the Copa del Rey as they thumped Linense 6-0 at San Mames to book their spot in the next round.
