Swansea City have won their first game in the Europa League group stage after after beating 10-man Valencia 3-0 at the Mestalla this evening.
The home side were reduced to 10 men early on when Adil Rami was dismissed for dragging down Wilfried Bony after he was adjudged to have been the last man.
It took Swansea just four minutes to make their advantage count. Michu crossed low into the box and Bony was on hand to smash the ball home, with the aid of a deflection.
Nathan Dyer should have doubled the visitors lead in the 21st minute when another mistake from the Valencia backline allowed him a clean run on goal but he pulled his shot wide of goalkeeper Vicente Guaita.
Swansea scored their second of the night in the 58th minute when Alejandro Pozuelo's through-ball found Michu and the Spaniard fired home low past Guaita.
Jonathan de Guzman scored the Welsh side's third goal of the night just past the hour mark with a free kick from long range.
