Vancouver Whitecaps have beaten Los Angeles Galaxy 3-1 to move off the bottom of the MLS Western Conference.
Two goals from substitute Russell Teibert helped the home side secure the win.
After an early delay for an injury to Jose Villarreal, Galaxy created a couple of good chances. First Villarreal himself headed straight into the goalkeeper's arms and then Mike Magee fired wide from the edge of the box.
Darren Mattocks missed the target with a couple of long-range efforts for the home side, before Magee saw another shot from just outside the box well saved.
The Whitecaps started to gain a foothold in the game after that but didn't test the Galaxy defence before half time.
Two early Teibert corners in the second half found Gershon Koffie unmarked in the middle of the box, but on both occasions the Whitecaps midfielder failed to hit the target.
Midway through the half, though, they did take the lead when Nigel Reo-Coker found Teibert in space on the edge of the penalty box and the forward fired into the bottom corner.
Mattocks had a chance to double the lead 10 minutes later, but couldn't hit the target when the ball fell kindly to him in the middle of the penalty area.
Fifteen minutes from the end, the home side did make it 2-0 as Teibert got his second, collecting Koffie's through-ball and firing past the goalkeeper with his left foot.
Gyasi Zardes headed in Villarreal's cross five minutes from the end but just as the visitors were pushing for an equaliser, Mattocks scored on the counter-attack, finishing a neat passing move to confirm the win.
