Emmanuel Badu scored a stoppage-time equaliser as Udinese held Hellas Verona to a 2-2 draw on Saturday evening.
Verona were gifted the opportunity to take the lead in the 14th minute Alessandro Agostini was brought down inside the box by Allan Loureiro.
Luca Toni stepped up from 12 yards to calmly slot the ball home and give Verona a crucial early lead.
The home supporters were left thanking Rafael throughout the first half as the goalkeeper made saves to deny Antonio Di Natale and Giampiero Pinzi as Udinese applied the pressure heading into the break.
However, it was Verona who scored again in the 54th minute when Emil Hallfredsson collected a pass from Juan Gomez Taleb before firing into the back of the net from a difficult angle.
Udinese pulled one back just two minutes later as Di Natale took advantage of some hesitation inside the box to drill the ball into the bottom corner.
Verona survived one more scare in the closing stages as the usually clinical Di Natale headed over from close range with just six minutes remaining in normal time.
However, Udinese's luck finally changed in the first minute of stoppage time as substitute Badu benefited from some impressive play by Andrea Lazzari to fire in an equaliser.
