Hellas Verona secured all three points after a comfortable 4-0 victory over Catania in this afternoon's Serie A clash.
The home side took the lead after just six minutes when Luca Toni pounced on a rebound inside the box and finished it well.
Two minutes later, Gonzalo Bergessio had a good chance to equalise, but the defence covered well to deny the opportunity.
Sebastian Leto almost made it 1-1 on 23 minutes, but his effort was well saved by the goalkeeper to keep Verona in front.
Toni made it 2-0 on 28 minutes, latching onto a cross from Jacopo Sala to head into the roof of the net.
Just before the half-time whistle, Juan Taleb made it 3-0 to Verona, putting the ball into the bottom corner from a cross.
Ten minutes into the second half, Leto had a chance for Catania, but his strike wasn't powerful enough to beat the goalkeeper.
Marquinho and Toni threatened for the home side, but they couldn't find the fourth goal with their chances.
Juan Taleb made it 4-0 on 75 minutes, finishing expertly just inside the left post after going one-on-one with the goalkeeper.
