Roberto Soldado has admitted that his move to Villarreal has been "better" than he first imagined.
The Spanish striker returned to his homeland in the summer following a frustrating two years at Tottenham Hotspur.
After failing to find prolific goalscoring form at White Hart Lane, the 30-year-old has netted twice in three games for Villarreal.
"My return is better than I could have imagined," AS quotes Soldado as saying. "I really wanted to return to Spain and especially to a club that has everything it needs to do well.
"The welcome I received was second to none and we have started well, which in sport is the most important thing."
Soldado's move to Spurs from Valencia in 2013 cost a reported £26m.
