ADO Den Haag have effectively secured their Eredivisie safety by beating a Vitesse side who were on a 12-match unbeaten run.
Michiel Kramer scored an 86th-minute winner at the Kyocera Stadium to secure the hosts a 1-0 victory which takes them nine points clear of the relegation playoff places.
NAC Breda in 16th have three games to play this season, but their goal difference, inferior to Den Haag's by 21, means that Henk Fraser's side can sit comfortably.
Den Haag had won two of their three previous matches to move clear of the bottom three, but appeared to be settling for a point against the European hopefuls, who thrashed them 6-1 earlier this season.
That was until 17-goal leading marksman Kramer, outscored by only PSV Eindhoven duo Memphis Depay and Luuk de Jong this campaign, ran onto a punt forward from goalkeeper Martin Hansen to find the net late on.
Vitesse's first defeat since losing 4-1 to Heerenveen in January leaves them fourth in the table, although they could be leapfrogged by AZ over the weekend.
