Watford striker Danny Welbeck is reportedly facing months on the sidelines after his latest injury setback.
The 28-year-old went off in the opening five minutes of the Hornets' 1-1 draw with Tottenham Hotspur at the weekend with what manager Quique Sanchez Flores described as an ankle problem.
Reports coming out of the club now indicate that Welbeck has actually suffered a hamstring tear, which will rule him out for months rather than the weeks initially suspected.
The Hornets are now believed to be consulting specialists before deciding on the appropriate rehabilitation programme for the forward.
Welbeck's history of injury problems had seen him bedded in slowly at Watford following his summer move from Arsenal, as he missed the final six months of last season with an ankle problem that required two separate operations.
The former Manchester United striker has scored one goal in seven appearances since moving to Vicarage Road.
