Quique Flores has insisted that Troy Deeney has been doing "really amazing" work for Watford, despite not scoring so far this season.
The striker had 21 goals in 43 appearances for the club last season, helping the Hornets secure promotion to the Premier League, but is yet to open his account in the top flight.
The manager said at his pre-match press conference: "Normally I try to consider the team as a collective. I don't like to have obsessions about different things, including with Deeney.
"In the last four weeks I have not spoken with him about scoring or not scoring during games. The most important thing is creating attempts and he has the opportunity to shoot at goal. In the last match he was man of the match against Newcastle.
"He's assisting, not scoring, but the work he is doing for the team is really amazing. I don't like to talk too much about the names of individual players. Every player is very important."
