Potential Watford owner Gino Pozzo has refused to rule out the possibility of Gianfranco Zola becoming the club's new manager.
The Pozzo family, who also own Udinese and Granada, have agreed a deal in principle to take over the running of the club.
Recent reports had claimed that Pozzo would be keen to appoint the former West Ham United boss to the Vicarage Road helm.
Despite admitting that there is work to be done, the businessman stopped short of ruling out Zola's arrival.
"There are contacts with Watford, so we'll see," Pozzo told Gazzetta.it. "Gianfranco Zola enters in the project, but it's too early to talk about it."
Zola, 45, has been without a club side since leaving West Ham in 2010.
