Sports Mole previews Saturday's Championship clash between high-flying Watford and Millwall at Vicarage Road.

Watford could move top of the Championship table with a victory over Millwall when the two sides meet at Vicarage Road this Saturday.

The Hornets are currently level on points with league leaders Derby County, but sit in second place due to the Rams' narrowly superior goal difference.

With Derby facing a potential tricky trip to Brentford, Watford will be hoping to capitalise on any slip-ups in a match they will be expected to win against Millwall.

Despite the regular managerial upheavals at the club this season - Watford are already on their fourth permanent boss of the campaign - performances on the pitch have remained at a high level.

Indeed, they come into this game on the back of an eight-match unbeaten run that spans the reigns of three different managers, the latest of whom - Slavisa Jokanovic - has won one and drawn two of his three matches at the helm.

Despite their lofty league position, there is plenty of room for improvement for Watford, who have already dropped 16 points in the current campaign courtesy of five draws and two defeats.

However, they are yet to be beaten at Vicarage Road in the league this season, and only Wolves have picked up more points in front of their own fans than the Hornets.

Troy Deeney could be in line for a start this weekend having come off the bench to earn a point for his side against Middlesbrough last time out, with Odion Ighalo the man to potentially make way.

Millwall will be in fairly confident mood going into this match having stopped the rot recently with a 1-0 victory over Cardiff City in their last outing.

That put an end to a run of three consecutive draws and eight matches without a win that saw the Lions slide down the table following a very bright start to the campaign.

Perhaps the most pleasing thing for Holloway to take from recent results is that his side have kept three clean sheets in their last four outings, and only one team has conceded fewer goals than his side in the bottom half of the table.

Consecutive goalless draws against Derby and Wigan Athletic away from home are decent results for the Lions, but they are now without a win on the road in six matches, since their opening away game of the season.

Holloway could name an unchanged side in an effort to bring that run to an end following the success over Cardiff last time out.
