Watford kicked off their pre-season preparations with a 4-0 win over St Albans City this evening at Clarence Park.
Odion Ighalo opened the scoring for the Premier League side just after the half-hour mark when he nodded home from close range after good work from Daniel Pudil.
Ighalo claimed his second three minutes later when he calmly converted a pass from new signing Etienne Capoue.
Troy Deeney came close to making it 3-0 before the break when he flashed a 20-yard volley just over the bar.
However, Deeney did get his name on the scoresheet in the second period when he smashed home from close range, before Tommy Smith made it 4-0 with a looping effort late on.
