Watford have continued their preparations for the new Premier League season by beating SC Paderborn 2-0 in Germany this afternoon.
Matej Vydra gave the Hornets the lead in the 12th minute when he latched on to Troy Deeney's through-ball and finished past Lukas Kruse.
Idir Ouali then volleyed over from close range and Marcel Ndjeng had an effort saved, as Paderborn looked for a way back into the match.
Deeney almost scored a second for Watford moments later with an effort that was tipped wide by the keeper, before Nick Proschwitz saw his header ruled out for offside.
The visitors did manage to double their lead just past the hour mark, as Odion Ighalo was picked out inside the box by Ikechi Anya's cross, before firing a low strike past Kruse.
In the closing stages, Proschwitz saw an effort crash against the post, but it was as close as the hosts would come to scoring, as Watford ran out comfortable winners.
