Wellington Phoenix have registered just their second home win of the season with a crushing 5-0 triumph over Melbourne Victory.
Carlos Hernandez netted two first-half goals for Wellington as they overpowered third-place Melbourne to move up to eight position in the A-League table.
The home side dominated the opening 20 minutes of the match, with Hernandez bursting into the penalty area before driving the ball into the bottom corner to hand his team the lead.
Two goals on the half-time whistle put Phoenix in firm control, with Hernandez converting from the spot after Kenny Cunningham had doubled his side's advantage with a dipping volley.
Wellington continued to control the game after the break without adding to their tally, but late goals from Jeremy Brockie and Stein Huysegems capped off a remarkable performance.
