Werder Bremen will be looking to end their season on a high as they overcame safely-placed Hertha Berlin 2-0 in the Bundesliga this afternoon, thanks to a brace from Aaron Hunt.
Berlin thought that they had taken the lead after just one minute of action when Ronny let fly with a speculative effort, which was somehow kept out at the bottom corner by Raphael Wolf.
The visitors threatened again soon after when Per Skjelbred hit a well-timed shot towards goal, leaving the Bremen keeper to pull off a standout save at his top-right corner.
Despite their lack of chances, Bremen took the lead early in the second half when Aaron Hunt latched onto Franco Di Santo's through-ball to poke home and leave the hosts 1-0 ahead.
Sebastian Prodl should have made things a lot more comfortable, but he somehow managed to lash over from just a few yards out.
Luckily for the hosts, Hunt was in a more efficient mood as he grabbed his second goal of the game in injury time with a neat finish from the centre of the box.
