Aaron Hunt's late free kick has earned Werder Bremen a 1-1 draw at home to Stuttgart in the Bundesliga this afternoon.
Stuttgart should have taken the lead after only three minutes as Daniel Schwaab was picked out by Ibrahima Traore's cross, but he flashed his header wide of the left post.
Franco Di Santo missed a sitter with his right as Luca Caldirola's cross came across the box, with the striker somehow managing to steer the ball over the crossbar with the goal gaping.
The mishaps were to continue as VFB missed the chance to go 1-0 ahead at the break when Martin Harnik stepped up to hit a penalty against the right post, following a foul conceded by Bremen's Assani Lukimya.
The miss was made up for in the 55th minute as Stuttgart man Georg Niedermeier made it 1-0 to the visitors when he tucked the ball home from a few yards out.
The hosts didn't give up, however, with Bremen pulling level thanks to Hunt's standout free kick in the 79th minute.
