West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino has withdrawn from the England Under-21s squad with a foot injury.
The 21-year-old, who was substituted late on in Albion's 3-0 defeat to Manchester City yesterday, has been aided by pain-killing injections in recent weeks to keep him in contention for his club side.
However, West Brom manager Tony Pulis has decided that it would be too much of a risk to allow Berahino to turn out for Gareth Southgate's Young Lions next week.
The Under-21s will face the Czech Republic on Friday before hosting Germany the following Monday.
