West Bromwich Albion boss Alan Irvine has insisted that it is "important" for his side to progress into the next phase of the Capital One Cup.
The Baggies will take on Championship side Bournemouth at the Goldsands Stadium this evening in the fourth round of the competition.
West Brom's opponents are in a rich vein of form having grabbed four Championship victories on the bounce, the latest resulting in an 8-0 drubbing of Birmingham City away at St Andrew's.
"It's a really important game for us," Irvine told the club's official website. "We want to get a good result and progress to the next round. We will put out a team of first-team players.
"As head coach I have to manage the whole squad and players who haven't been playing need to have a platform to impress."
The Baggies head into tonight's encounter on the back of two consecutive Premier League 2-2 draws.
