West Bromwich Albion manager Steve Clarke praised Stephane Sessegnon after the forward scored a debut goal against his former club Sunderland.
Liam Ridgewell and Morgan Amalfitano scored second-half goals to give Clarke's side their first league win of the season, and after the game the manager said he was pleased with his side's performance.
"We started slowly, but I felt we played well after we got our noses in front," Clarke told the club's official website. "There was good movement going forward.
"It's great that Stephane got off the mark on his debut. He showed good respect to Sunderland fans by not over-celebrating.
"We brought Stephane here to create chances and score goals so he's got off to a good start."
The result lifts West Brom up to 15th place in the table.
