West Bromwich Albion defender Gareth McAuley has claimed that the club must not put too much pressure on Saido Berahino.
The 20-year-old scored his second goal of the season on Saturday during the Baggies' 2-0 win over Crystal Palace in the Premier League.
Despite Berahino earning plenty of plaudits for his performances on the pitch this season, McAuley believes that that the youngster must remain grounded.
"He's a good lad but we don't want to build him up too much and put a lot of pressure on his shoulders," the Northern Ireland international told the Birmingham Mail.
"He's doing that himself with his performances and getting headlines and goals. That's important.
"That gives him the belief and confidence that he can do it in the Premier League and he's showing that."
West Brom boss Steve Clarke recently revealed that the club is in talks with Berahino over a new contract at The Hawthorns.
