West Bromwich Albion boss Tony Pulis: 'We allowed Everton to punish us'

West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis claims that his players switched off and allowed Everton to "punish" them on the way to a 3-2 comeback win at The Hawthorns.

West Bromwich Albion manager Tony Pulis has bemoaned his side's 3-2 defeat to Everton, claiming that his players switched off and allowed their opponents to "punish" them.

Saido Berahino fired the Baggies ahead at the end of the first half, before Craig Dawson headed in after the break to double their lead.

Romelu Lukaku quickly pulled a goal back for the Toffees, who then levelled the scores when Arouna Kone drilled past Boaz Myhill, before Lukaku added a second late on to seal the remarkable turnaround.

Pulis told reporters: "The first goal kills us. We should deal with it. Losing Gareth McAuley and Jonas Olsson to injury hasn't helped us any, playing against Romelu Lukaku.

"The other two goals are poor goals - the second one looks offside, the linesman is looking the wrong side. It's a poor decision.

"It is really, really disappointing because, before we scored the second goal, we had some good chances. We switched off and Everton will punish you."

The result keeps West Brom in 15th place in the Premier League table.
