Kenny Swain has backed West Bromwich Albion striker Saido Berahino to earn his first call-up to the senior England squad.
The England Under-16 manager is convinced that he is good enough to play for Roy Hodgson's side and has been impressed with his displays for Albion this season.
"He took my eye the first time I saw him," Express & Star quotes him as saying. "He had good close control, good feet and could score a goal.
"If Roy does pick him for the senior side he will be following good company in Andros [Townsend] and Ross [Barkley] who have come in most recently.
"If Roy picks him then he will do so because he thinks the lad is good enough."
Hodgson is expected to name his squad on Thursday for the upcoming friendlies against Chile and Germany.
